What language courses do you offer?

With over 60 years of experience in intensive French (and English) courses, our language school provides teenagers, students and working professionals with professional, high-quality and personalised support to help them progress quickly towards mastering the language. We are located in the centre of Lausanne, a 5-minute walk from the main train station, making our courses easily accessible to all.

Who are your teachers?

Our French teachers are native French speakers, certified and university-qualified. Our English teachers, bilingual and certified, hold university degrees in English teaching.

What type of intensive programme do you offer?

We offer two types of intensive programmes, held in the mornings, Monday to Friday. Our students can choose between an intensive programme of 16 hours 40 minutes or 20 hours of language study per week. At the end of each course, students receive a language certificate from École Lémania stating the level achieved, which serves as proof of their progress. Our students and learners can also take French tests such as the DELF or DALF, or English tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC or B2 First (formerly known as Cambridge English: First, FCE).

Do you offer accommodation?

Students on the language course are welcome to stay at the Ecole Lémania boarding house. Our pupils and students benefit from the proximity of Lausanne and all it has to offer: shops, museums, universities, libraries, cultural and leisure venues, banks, pharmacies, the airport and the train station.

Our boarding house has a capacity of 40 places; in the evenings, students are supervised by qualified staff as part of a supervised study programme. A private gym, located a 5-minute walk from Ecole Lémania, is also available to them at all times.

Students on the language courses who stay at the boarding house can take part in weekend activities such as skiing, hiking, sports, leisure activities and cultural outings, including city tours and museum visits.

At the boarding house, students on the intensive language courses also mix with students from other programmes, such as the International Baccalaureate, the Swiss Maturité or the French Baccalauréat. This diversity fosters cultural exchange and synergy between talents, all within an idyllic setting in the heart of Lausanne’s city centre!
