COMMERCE AND ACCOUNTING DIPLOMA
Our Commerce and Accounting Diploma programme aims to give candidates professional and methodological commercial skills to help them embark on a new career or build on their prior professional experience.
The Commerce and Accounting Diploma aims to develop abilities such as comprehension, analysis and interpretation of economic and legal data, use of economic language and the ability to draft economic texts, information management using modern technologies, and effective foreign language skills.
Lemania College’s Commerce and Accounting Diploma and accounting programmes are fast-track, intensive and comprehensive commercial courses.
You must be at least 18 years of age at the end of the Commerce and Accounting Diploma programme.
This course is intended for adult learners, with or without prior professional experience. Prior experience will be an asset for some of the work required on this programme.

Classes for the Commerce and Accounting Diploma take place on two evenings a week for a full year (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:40 p.m.).

Commerce and Accounting Diploma lessons are scheduled with official school holidays in mind.
The Commerce and Accounting Diploma is primarily tailored specifically to the demands of official examinations and business needs. The fast-paced teaching and classes on the Commerce and Accounting Diploma programme are scheduled to fit around your work and personal life.
The following teaching methods and tools are used:
- Training delivered by experienced practitioners.
- Learning by doing.
- Case studies and simulations.
- Questions and exercises to help you revise effectively.
- Half-day “learning to learn” seminar included.
Our experienced training consultants will advise you on the right pathway, according to your ability.
We start all subjects on the Commerce and Accounting Diploma programme from scratch, with the exception of languages, where you will need to take an entry test to determine your ability.
Quantitative Management Techniques (12 months)
|Balance sheet, goods, payroll, accounting forecasts, reserves, holding accounts, closing.|
IT (12 months)
|Word: functions, practical exercises, drafting business letters, memos, CVs, proposals.|
Excel: practical exercises, functions, spreadsheets, graphs.
PowerPoint: Work Report (RT): producing a short presentation on a professional experience.
Languages (12 months)
|Language lessons are tailored to students’ abilities. All learners take an entry test to determine their level. The test results are based on European standards.|
Commercial law (6 months)
|Contract law, corporate law|
French writing (6 months)
|Cover letters, CVs, and all other business correspondence.|
Examinations are held at the end of each module. Refer to the exam regulations for the Commerce and Accounting Diploma pass requirements.
With the Commerce and Accounting Diploma, you can move directly into the job market or continue further study such as the Federal VET Diploma in Commerce.
You can also enrol at a specialist school such as the School of Management and Communication (ESM) in Geneva, or a hospitality school.
The qualification gives students and future employers peace of mind that all the content of the Commerce and Accounting Diploma programme has been mastered.
